OrganiQ interior fittings

The composite material OrganiQ consists of 76% natural fibres – hemp and kenaf – and 24% thermoset water-based binding agent. It is made without formaldehyde or phenolic resins.  

The innovative material OrganiQ is based on the grasses hemp and kenaf, which grow quickly on barren land in nutrient-depleted soil and are able to temporarily bind carbon dioxide. Furthermore, hemp is one of the oldest, most versatile crop plants with strong, deep taproots and lateral root systems that penetrate the soil deeply. The advantage of this is that the fibres are highly resistant to wear and tear. The kenaf plant is characterised by its coarse, hairy stems and lobed leaves. It belongs to the mallow family. Compared to jute, it contains considerably less lignin, which makes it less sensitive to light. Despite its low density, kenaf exhibits good tensile and bending properties. This means that its lightweight fibres improve the stiffness and dimensional stability of products. The non-woven fabric used for our inserts is also made from plant fibres.
